Father's Day Manypause Ride - 2012

A bunch of Manypausers got together for a ride in the dirt this past Sunday (Father's Day).

Early morning meeting spot for the first group on the side of the highway

Big Jim recently sold his DR650 and acquired a more road-oriented F650.
He wasn't coming out for the ride, rather, he just came to the meeting spot to socialize.

Jason G, his friend Mike and son Christian trailered their orange bikes to Calabogie.
This hay field was the the meeting spot for the 1st and 2nd groups.  Nine (9) riders in all.

We had to deal with a fallen tree in this spot.

Roaming Rally 2012

This past weekend (June 7-10) was the 2nd annual Roaming Rally. I'm exhausted but it was so much fun. Although I decided to cut things short by a day due to lack of sleep. Two nights in a row of sleeping in a tent with a hundred drunken bikers .... I didn't get much sleep. By Saturday morning, I was wiped out and concerned that riding such a long day with barely an hour's sleep in the last 2 days might be the perfect recipe for disaster. Riding while exhausted is just asking for trouble, so Dave and I decided to head for home before we got killed. Even so, Thursday, Friday and Saturday were terrific. We took the long way home via some great trails and gravel roads, and had the chance to rest on Sunday before going back to work on Monday.

Can't wait until next year !

Three nights of camping, 1,192 Kms total distance.

I stitched together a few random video clips from the weekend.

Moto-Mule dual sport trailer. The owner had plenty of good things to say about it.

Turtle in the grass. We moved him there after spotting him lying
in the middle of the trail. Saw many turtles this weekend.
